Privacy Policy

1. Overview & Commitment

We respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how HeelFix collects, uses, and protects your account information, foot photographs, AI analysis data, progress records, and subscription details.

2. Account Data & Authentication

HeelFix uses user accounts (Sign in with Apple and/or email authentication) to authenticate users and manage subscriptions and scan history across devices.

  • Data Collected: Email address, display name, and Apple ID identifier (via Sign in with Apple).
  • Purpose: User authentication, account security, and subscription/entitlement management.
  • Photo Processing: Heel photos are processed exclusively for skin condition analysis, are never sold, and scan history is associated with your account.
  • Data Control: You can delete your account and all associated server and local data at any time directly in the app.

3. Heel Photo Processing & AI Staging

  • Processing: When you capture a photo, it is transmitted securely over HTTPS via the HeelFix proxy to Google Gemini API.
  • Analysis: Photos are evaluated transiently to detect dryness, cracks, callus, and skin texture, and generate a severity rating.
  • Retention: Images sent to the AI API are processed ephemerally and are NOT retained on remote AI servers, stored in cloud databases, or used for AI model training.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your scan records, heel photos, routine logs, and preferences are stored locally on your device using SwiftData with iOS file protection encryption. Account authentication credentials and active subscription entitlements are securely managed through our backend services.

5. Subscription & Payment Information

Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed through the Apple App Store using StoreKit 2. We cryptographically verify purchase receipts with Apple to activate features on your account. We never receive, store, or process your credit card numbers or financial credentials.

6. Data Retention, Export & Deletion

You have full control over your personal data:

  • Wipe Local Scans: Settings → Delete All My Data permanently removes all scan records and captured images from your device.
  • Delete Account: Settings → Delete Account & All Data permanently deletes your user account, server entitlement records, and all local data.
